Bandung Startups Pitching Day

The Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) is the first technical university in Indonesia with a mission to

                              promote science and technology to advance Indonesia.

1982 Ventures was invited to participate as a judge in the Bandung Startups Pitching Day.  The event was hosted by The Greater Hub Bandung Incubator that belongs to the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB).  ITB is one of Indonesia’s leading business universities that has produced many of the great tech entrepreneurs in Indonesia. The event provided a great introduction to Bandung’s startups that are tackling a wide spectrum of issues using innovative solutions.

Herston Powers (Managing Partner at 1982 Ventures) stated, “The Indonesian startups at the pitching day are a testament to the strong entrepreneurial potential in Southeast Asia."   He continued, "I was impressed not only by the business sense of the founders, but more importantly, their fresh solutions that will positively impact the Indonesian economy."

A diverse range of startups pitched to the panel of Venture Capitalists including startups focused on education, agriculture and sanitation. There were startups with a strong fintech focus creating digital solutions to encourage retail investment, property investment and digital banking.
